On April 1, 1957, the BBC ran a three minute news report about Spaghetti Trees and the Spaghetti Harvest in Switzerland. Thousands of people fell for it. Pasta wasn't widely available in England and of their experience with spaghetti was from cans.
I remember seeing the film on the JACK PAAR SHOW years later when I was a kid. I believed spaghetti grew on trees for years (I think I learned it wasn't last year).
